This Privacy Policy explains how LikeChrist ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS application.

By using LikeChrist, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Data We Collect

We do not collect or store personal data like your name, email address, or IP address. However, certain information is collected automatically to improve the app's functionality and performance. This includes:

• Crash logs (via Apple's diagnostics tools)
• App usage data (via Apple and RevenueCat)
• Device information (such as device model, iOS version, and language settings)

We also collect:

• Your first name (stored locally on your device only, never transmitted)
• Schedule preferences (wake time, bed time, stored locally)
• Selected apps for blocking (managed by Apple's Screen Time API, never transmitted to us)

2. How We Use Your Data

We use this information to:

• Monitor app performance
• Diagnose bugs or crashes
• Understand general user behavior (e.g., time spent in app, screen views)
• Improve subscription experiences through RevenueCat

All analytics data is anonymized and is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party tools to operate the app:

• Apple App Store & Analytics – for purchases and usage insights
• RevenueCat – to manage subscriptions and present paywalls
• Apple Screen Time API – to enable app blocking features (all data stays on device)
• Gemini API (Google) – to generate AI-based Bible exploration responses

These providers may collect anonymized data according to their own privacy practices. No personally identifiable information is intentionally transmitted.

4. AI Features & Data Processing (Bible Chat)

LikeChrist uses Google's Gemini AI to power the Bible Chat feature. When you use Bible Chat:

• What is sent: Your questions and conversation context are transmitted to Google's Gemini API for processing
• What is NOT sent: Your name, device identifiers, location, or any other personal information
• Data retention: Google may process your queries according to their Privacy Policy, but LikeChrist does not store your conversations on our servers

By using Bible Chat, you consent to your questions being processed by Google's Gemini AI service.

AI responses are generated automatically and are intended for devotional guidance only — not as a replacement for pastoral counsel or professional advice.

5. Screen Time & App Blocking

LikeChrist uses Apple's Screen Time API to help you block distracting apps until you complete your daily session. This feature:

• Is entirely user-controlled (you choose which apps to block)
• Uses Apple's native FamilyControls framework
• Keeps all data on your device (we never see which apps you select or block)

6. Your Privacy Controls

Since no user accounts are created, there is no user profile to delete. All personal preferences (name, schedule, selected apps) are stored locally on your device and can be cleared by deleting the app.

7. Children's Privacy

This app is rated 4+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware of unintentional data collection from a child, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes go into effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
